Day: April 25, 2020
Often foreign citizens in Italy, with a regular residence permit, engage in the delicate issue of bringing their family members from the country of origin to the host country. If they do not know how to move, an Immigration Law firm Italy can direct them to that legal institution provided for in our system, such as family reunification.
Family reunification can be requested under certain conditions by foreign citizens regularly residing in Italy to bring wives, husbands and minor children here. Only in some cases it is possible to apply also for adult children and dependent parents.
HOW FAMILY REUNION IS REQUESTED
The application must be sent electronically (that’s why it would be ideal to get help from a professional) through the website of the Ministry of Interior. First of all, you must register and enter a reserved area. Here then you must fill in and send online the form S, “Request for clearance for family reunification”. It is possible to get free help from associations and patronages that have entered into memoranda of understanding with the ministry, or even from lawyers who know the discipline very well.
In the form you must first enter your data and those of family members who want to bring to Italy. So you have to specify your working condition and your income, possibly integrated with that of other family members, to demonstrate that you are able to keep those who arrive in Italy.
WHAT TO INDICATE IN THE APPLICATION
There is also a section dedicated to accommodation that will host family members. This in order to write down all the requirements of the certificate of eligibility issued by the Municipality (refugees and those who bring only a child under 14 years of age to Italy are not required) and the number of people in the accommodation.
Finally, it must also be indicated which Italian consulate in the country of origin will have to issue the entry visa to the family member and leave useful contacts to receive communications regarding the reunification. After indicating the details and affixing a 16 euro electronic stamp, you can confirm the truthfulness of what has been declared and then send the application online.
THE SECOND STEP
This represents only the initial stage. At a later date, the Single Desk for Immigration of the province of residence will convene the foreigner in order to show him the original documentation (for example on work or income). After issuing the authorization to reunite, the family member abroad can have an entry visa and enter Italy.
